Apple's personal intelligence system, Apple Intelligence, is set to expand its language offerings and regional availability this April. The system will soon support French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese. Additionally, localized English versions for Singapore and India will be introduced. These updates will coincide with the release of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4.
Developers can begin testing these software releases today. Notably, with these updates, iPhone and iPad users in the European Union will gain access to Apple Intelligence features for the first time. Furthermore, Apple Intelligence will debut on a new platform in U.S. English through Apple Vision Pro.
Apple emphasizes that this expansion marks a significant advancement in privacy within artificial intelligence technology. "Apple Intelligence marks an extraordinary step forward for privacy in AI," states the company. The system utilizes on-device processing for many models to enhance user privacy by running entirely on the device itself.
For tasks requiring larger models, Apple's Private Cloud Compute extends the security measures of iPhones into cloud computing environments to provide additional intelligence capabilities while maintaining user privacy.
The company also announced plans to introduce more features over the coming months, including expanded capabilities for Siri.
