Michael Robinson and Kemanye Williams have pleaded guilty in a U.S. District Court for their involvement in a series of robberies at a Walgreens store in Washington D.C.'s Chinatown neighborhood. This announcement was made by United States Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr., FBI Special Agent Sean Ryan, and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department.

Robinson, who worked as a store manager at Walgreens, and Williams admitted to charges of conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery (Hobbs Act robbery) and using firearms during these crimes. Williams also pleaded guilty to an additional firearm charge.

Earlier, co-conspirators Gianni Robinson and London Teeter had also entered guilty pleas related to the same criminal activities. All four defendants face up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $250,000. Sentencing dates are set for June 10 for Michael Robinson, while the others will be sentenced on June 12.

Court documents reveal that the conspirators planned armed robberies at the Walgreens store starting in July 2023. The inside information about cash transfers within the store was provided by Michael Robinson or Teeter when they were on duty as managers. They shared details about security presence and cash amounts with their accomplices.

The robberies occurred between July 2023 and February 2024, with Williams disguising himself and brandishing a firearm during each incident. He forced employees into the manager’s office or accessed it using codes provided by Robinson or Teeter before fleeing with stolen cash.

In response to these incidents, Walgreens hired armed Special Police Officers for protection; however, Williams robbed them of their firearms during two of the robberies.

A search conducted on February 12, 2024, led law enforcement officers to recover a loaded Glock pistol from the residence shared by Gianni Robinson and Teeter.

The investigation is being handled by the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force alongside the Metropolitan Police Department. The prosecution team includes Assistant U.S. Attorneys Justin F. Song and Sarah Martin, along with Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Monica Svetoslavov from the Federal Major Crimes Section.
