U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility have intercepted methamphetamine valued at over $2.4 million concealed within a shipment of Persian limes. The seizure occurred on March 7 when CBP officers inspected a commercial tractor trailer entering from Mexico.

Port Director Carlos Rodriguez of the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry stated, "Our CBP officers continue to safeguard America’s border by keeping harmful narcotics off our streets."

The inspection involved nonintrusive equipment and a canine team, leading to the discovery of 960 packages of methamphetamine weighing approximately 268.96 pounds (122 kg). The narcotics and vehicle were seized by CBP's Office of Field Operations, while Homeland Security Investigations has launched a criminal investigation.

CBP describes itself as America's frontline, with over 65,000 personnel dedicated to protecting the nation across various domains. The agency emphasizes its role in facilitating lawful travel and trade while enhancing national security through innovation and collaboration.
