In the initial 50 days of the Trump Administration, Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) has reported 32,809 enforcement arrests. This number is notable when compared to the entire fiscal year 2024, during which ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations recorded 33,242 at-large arrests.
According to ICE, these early figures under President Trump's presidency surpass the total number of at-large arrests made in the previous year under the former administration. Of those arrested in this period:
- 14,111 were convicted criminals.
- 9,980 have pending criminal charges.
Additionally, ICE apprehended 1,155 criminal gang members, a significant increase from the 483 gang-related arrests during the same timeframe last year. Furthermore, there were 39 arrests of known or suspected terrorists, nearly tripling the figure from last year's comparable period.
Secretary Noem issued a statement regarding these operations: “We have deported known terrorists, cartel members, and gang members from our country."
She continued: "We will see the number of deportations continue to rise. And illegal immigrants have the option to self-deport and come back LEGALLY in the future."
The Secretary also emphasized ICE's role moving forward: “And our team at ICE will help us continue moving forward to make America SAFE again.”
