Last week, U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon visited Vertex Partnership Academies, a charter school located in the Bronx, New York. This visit marked her first as the head of the Department of Education and highlighted her support for school choice nationwide.
"School choice is crucial for students and parents to access learning environments that best fit their needs," stated Secretary McMahon. She added that touring Vertex Partnership Academies was a special experience and praised it as "a perfect example of how a community can come together to build an education program that serves the unique needs of its students and families."
Ian Rowe, Founder and CEO of Vertex Partnership Academies, expressed his gratitude: "Out of 100,000 public schools across the country, we are honored Secretary McMahon chose Vertex Partnership Academies as her first school visit." He emphasized that public charter schools give families the ability to choose a world-class education for their children while empowering teachers to focus on educational outcomes.
More information about Vertex Partnership Academies is available through the U.S. Department of Education.
