Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning expressed approval for Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy's recent actions to modernize the National Airspace System (NAS). Fanning highlighted the importance of these efforts on behalf of AIA's nearly 300 members.

“On behalf of the Aerospace Industries Association’s nearly 300 members, we applaud Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy for quickly acknowledging the urgent need for a state-of-the-art National Airspace System (NAS),” Fanning stated. He emphasized that while the United States manages a large and complex airspace system, there are significant challenges due to outdated acquisition policies and inconsistent funding. These issues have hindered the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) progress in updating the NAS.

Fanning also noted that U.S. aerospace manufacturers are eager to collaborate with the Trump Administration, Secretary Duffy, FAA, and other aviation stakeholders. The goal is to advance air traffic control modernization and maintain American leadership in aerospace.
