Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning extended congratulations to Steve Feinberg following his confirmation as the Deputy Secretary of Defense.
Fanning remarked on the Department of Defense's renewed emphasis on the acquisition process and equipping warfighters for modern challenges. "The Aerospace Industries Association welcomes the Department of Defense’s renewed focus on the acquisition process and how we equip our warfighters in the 21st century environment," he stated.
Highlighting Feinberg's experience, Fanning added, "As Deputy Secretary of Defense, Steve Feinberg will be integral to these efforts. After years of success in the business world — particularly in areas that are important to our military — he understands how to get new technology in the field far quicker than we do today, which is a goal our industry shares."
Feinberg's hearing comments also received praise from Fanning. "We were especially encouraged to hear him underscore during his hearing the value of an all-of-the-above approach to defense acquisition to rapidly expand both capacity and capability," Fanning said.
The AIA looks forward to collaborating with Feinberg and the Department of Defense. "We look forward to being a close partner for Mr. Feinberg and the entire department as industry and government work together to strengthen the defense industrial base and enhance our national security," concluded Fanning.
