Queens man sentenced for alien smuggling

Atikur Razzaque, a 28-year-old resident of Ozone Park, New York, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for his involvement in alien smuggling and conspiracy to commit alien smuggling. The announcement was made by United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III and Chief Border Patrol Agent Robert N. Garcia from the United States Border Patrol's Swanton Sector.

Razzaque had previously entered a guilty plea, admitting that on September 21, 2024, he traveled to the northern border near Westville, New York. There, he smuggled three Bangladeshi citizens into the United States for profit. He also confessed to having smuggled other individuals across the border on previous occasions.

The case was investigated by the United States Border Patrol and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Paulbeck.
