Honduran citizen sentenced for possessing fake social security card

A Honduran citizen, Roney Vasquez-Pineda, has been sentenced to time served for possessing a fraudulent social security card. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania reported that Vasquez-Pineda, aged 48, had been in ICE custody and with the Bureau of Prisons for 36 days. U.S. Magistrate Judge William I. Arbuckle handed down the sentence.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that Vasquez-Pineda was found with a fraudulent social security card on February 10, 2025. Following his sentencing, Vasquez-Pineda will return to ICE custody where he will face immigration removal proceedings.

The investigation into this case was conducted by the United States Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger prosecuted the case.
