Minnesota state Senator Justin David Eichorn has been charged with attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, according to an announcement by Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa D. Kirkpatrick.
The charges stem from an undercover operation initiated by Bloomington Police detectives on March 12, 2025, targeting commercial sex involving juveniles. Law enforcement placed online advertisements for commercial sex, which were actually monitored by undercover officers.
On March 11, 2025, Eichorn allegedly began messaging undercover officers who he believed were offering commercial sex services. Despite being informed that the individual was a 17-year-old minor, Eichorn reportedly continued to discuss pricing for various acts and arranged a meeting to pay for sex. He also requested explicit photos from the person he thought was a minor. Upon arriving at the agreed location, Eichorn was apprehended by law enforcement officers who found cash and a condom in his car.
Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa D. Kirkpatrick stated, "The U.S. Attorney’s Office has no tolerance for public officials who violate federal law—particularly those laws meant to protect children." She expressed gratitude towards the Bloomington Police Department and FBI for their efforts in identifying and arresting child sex predators.
Special Agent in Charge Alvin M. Winston Sr. of FBI Minneapolis remarked on the case: "The actions alleged in this case are an appalling attempt to exploit an innocent and vulnerable minor." He emphasized the commitment of the FBI and its partners to protecting children from exploitation.
Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges commented on the community's stance against such crimes: "If you come to the Orange Jumpsuit District looking to have sex with someone’s child, expect to leave in handcuffs." He advocated for stronger penalties and urged state legislators to prioritize child protection.
Eichorn faces one count of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor as charged today in U.S. District Court. It is important to note that a complaint is merely an allegation; Eichorn is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in court.
