U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has apprehended Julio Cesar Henao-Cordoba, a 38-year-old Colombian national, in State College. Henao-Cordoba is wanted by Panamanian authorities for the aggravated rape of a child. The arrest took place on March 14 outside his residence.
Brian McShane, acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Philadelphia, stated: “The arrest of Julio Cesar Henao-Cordoba demonstrates ICE's dedication to protecting the most vulnerable members of our communities — our children.” He added that ICE is committed to ensuring individuals accused of serious crimes are held accountable to maintain community safety.
Henao-Cordoba was initially arrested by U.S. Border Patrol near Eagle Pass, Texas, on May 26, 2022, for entering the United States without proper admission or parole. He was subsequently transferred to ICE custody and enrolled in an alternatives to detention program before being paroled into the country.
On August 23, 2022, Henao reported to ICE in York, Pennsylvania. Due to his residence being outside the program's range, he received a notice charging inadmissibility and was removed from the alternatives to detention program.
Following his recent arrest, Henao is detained at Clinton County Correctional Facility in McElhattan, Pennsylvania.
