A Las Vegas resident, identified as a career offender, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by four years of supervised release. United States District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey delivered the sentence for Eric Langpop, who was involved in selling significant quantities of methamphetamine and possessing firearms.

Court documents reveal that between November 2021 and October 5, 2022, Langpop conspired to distribute methamphetamine from his residence. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) seized over a pound of methamphetamine during their investigation. When law enforcement executed a search warrant at Langpop's home, they discovered methamphetamine and several firearms, including pistols, shotguns, a rifle, an assault rifle, and two silencers.

Langpop has a history of felony convictions related to controlled substances. These include a felony sale conviction in 2009 and separate convictions for sale and transport in 2013 and transport in 2016—all occurring in Clark County, Nevada. Additionally, he has four domestic violence battery convictions. Due to these felony and domestic violence convictions, Langpop is legally prohibited from possessing firearms.

He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Sue Fahami for the District of Nevada alongside Assistant Special Agent in Charge Kevin Adams for the DEA Las Vegas District Office.

The DEA conducted the investigation with Assistant United States Attorney Joshua Brister prosecuting the case.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at identifying and dismantling high-level criminal organizations through coordinated efforts among various agencies. More information about OCDETF can be found on their website.
