U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Roma Port of Entry have seized cocaine valued at over $3.6 million in a recent enforcement action. The incident took place on March 19 at the Roma International Bridge when officers directed a tractor trailer, carrying a mixed commodity shipment, for further inspection.

During the examination, an imaging system scan detected irregularities within the cargo. A detailed physical search led to the discovery of 110 packages containing approximately 124.86 kilograms (275.22 lbs.) of what is believed to be cocaine hidden in the shipment.

Port Director Andres Guerra from Roma Port of Entry commented on the operation: “This significant seizure of cocaine exemplifies the steadfast dedication of our officers to CBP’s border security mission.” He also noted that it underscores "the effective utilization of CBP officer experience and technology."

The estimated street value of the narcotics is $3,675,379. Following protocol, CBP handed over the narcotics, along with the tractor trailer and its driver, to the Roma Police Department for a criminal investigation.
