An official from West Covina, California, has been sentenced to 151 months in prison, lifetime supervision, and ordered to pay victim restitution for child exploitation violations. The sentencing took place on March 17 in the Central District of California. Herbert Redholtz, a former city commissioner involved with the Community and Senior Services Commission, was found guilty of possessing, distributing, and receiving child sexual abuse material.

The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Los Angeles Child Exploitation Investigations Task Force in collaboration with the U.S. Postal Service. A tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to a federal search warrant for an email account linked to Redholtz. This search uncovered over 950 images and videos containing suspected child sexual abuse material involving children, including infants and toddlers.

"This is an ICE HSI Los Angeles led investigation," stated officials. ICE HSI is recognized as a global leader in combating child exploitation and remains committed to protecting children from predators engaged in producing, distributing, and possessing such materials.

Individuals are encouraged to report suspected child exploitation through the ICE Tip Line at 1-866-347-2423 or via the Cyber Tipline on the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's website.
