Jonathan Ovalle Solis, a 33-year-old from Nuevo Leon, Mexico, has been sentenced for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen. Solis received a sentence of 78 months' imprisonment from Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr., in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska.
Solis's involvement as a local courier with a Mexican source of supply contributed to the distribution of methamphetamine in the Omaha and Council Bluffs areas. His activities were uncovered through an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation included an incident on July 20, 2023, where FBI special agents used a cooperating witness to purchase one pound of meth from Solis at an Omaha location. Surveillance also documented Solis engaging with co-conspirators and conducting suspected drug transactions, including delivering 174 grams of meth on August 23, 2023.
Upon completion of his prison term, Solis will face deportation to Mexico due to his non-citizen status in the United States.
