Ohio man receives 22-year sentence for child pornography production

A Columbus, Ohio man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for producing child pornography. Jeffrey Headley, 61, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Danny C. Reeves on Friday.

The case originated when law enforcement identified a victim of child sexual abuse imagery located in the Eastern District of Kentucky. The images were initially shared on a Russian-based website in May 2013 and subsequently distributed globally. Authorities traced the images back to Headley using photos of the offender and account details linked to the posts. Headley admitted to creating these images while the victim was under his care.

Under federal law, Headley is required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence. After his release, he will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for life.

Paul McCaffrey, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, along with Rana Saoud, Special Agent in Charge at Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Sheriff Mike Coyle from Madison County Sheriff's Office announced the sentencing.

The investigation was carried out by HSI and Madison County Sheriff's Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Roth is handling prosecution duties.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. It involves collaboration between federal, state, and local resources to apprehend offenders and rescue victims.
