A Prichard man, Clarence White, has received a sentence of 151 months in prison for the illegal possession of a firearm, according to recent court documents. The incident dates back to October 23, 2023, when Mobile police tried to arrest White, 45, due to several outstanding warrants. During the operation, White fired shots from his residence, nearly hitting an officer. White has a history of felony convictions which include attempted murder, possession of a controlled substance, and assault, making it illegal for him to possess a firearm.
Following his indictment for being a felon in possession of a firearm, White pled guilty. "United States District Court Judge Callie V. S. Granade sentenced White to 151 months in prison followed by a 3-year term of supervised release for illegally possessing the firearm."
The case announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama. The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Mobile Police Department.
This prosecution falls under the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) initiative, which unites law enforcement agencies and communities to address violent crime and gun-related violence, aiming to enhance neighborhood safety.
