Sean P. Costello U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama

Antonio Eirby, 34, has been sentenced to 105 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for possession of a firearm by a felon. Eirby pleaded guilty to the charge, as documented in court records.

Eirby has a criminal history that includes two previous felony convictions. These were for Domestic Violence Strangulation and Second-Degree Burglary, as recorded by the Mobile County Circuit Court.

The case against Eirby unfolded when the Mobile Police Department responded to an incident on Highway 90 on October 3, 2023. A victim reported that Eirby robbed him of his firearm in a parking lot. Police officers managed to apprehend Eirby on foot shortly thereafter and recovered the firearm on his person, which was subsequently returned to its lawful owner.

The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Sean Costello of the Southern District of Alabama. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, along with the Mobile Police Department, conducted the investigation. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tandice Blackwood on behalf of the United States.
