U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported 43-year-old Mexican citizen Jairo Ivan Paredes Cota to Mexico, where he is wanted for the sexual assault of a minor. His removal was conducted on March 27 via ground transportation.

Paredes initially entered the United States on an unspecified date and location without undergoing inspection by U.S. Immigration Officers. He was first arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on April 16, 2013, in Del Rio, Texas. Just a few days later, on April 20, 2013, CBP deported him to Mexico. However, Paredes re-entered the U.S. at an undisclosed date and location, once again without being inspected.

ICE officers apprehended Paredes on March 6 in Reno, Nevada. Following his arrest, he was detained at the Washoe County Jail in Reno until his eventual removal from the United States.

The public is encouraged to report any crimes or suspicious activity to ICE by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or completing an online tip form. ICE's mission to enhance public safety can be followed on their X account: @EROSaltLakeCity.
