Buffalo man indicted on drug conspiracy and possession charges

A Buffalo resident, Michael R. Prell, Jr., also known as Struggle Mike, Struggle, or Jr, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of narcotics conspiracy and attempted possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute. The charges relate to over five kilograms of cocaine and carry a potential sentence ranging from a minimum of 20 years to a maximum of life imprisonment.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis A. Testani is overseeing the case. According to Testani, between early 2024 and September 26, 2024, Prell allegedly conspired with others to sell cocaine. Additionally, Prell is accused of attempting to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute it on August 1, September 25, and September 26, 2024.

Prell was arraigned in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and has been released under certain conditions.

The indictment resulted from efforts by the Drug Enforcement Administration, led by Special Agent-in-Charge Frank Tarantino, III of the New York Field Division, and the New York State Police, directed by Major Amie P. Feroleto.

It is important to note that the indictment is merely an accusation. The charges against Prell are pending, and he remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
