Daniel J. Brewer, a resident of Polk County, Nebraska, has been sentenced for possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. According to Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen, Brewer, aged 58, received his sentence on March 27, 2025, in a federal court in Omaha, Nebraska.

Judge Brian C. Buescher handed down a prison term of 168 months for Brewer. Following his incarceration, Brewer will also serve a 5-year term of supervised release, as there is no provision for parole in the federal system.

The legal proceedings stem from an incident on July 27, 2023, when Brewer sold 28 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential source at his residence in Polk County. Subsequent to this transaction, law enforcement officers conducted a search of Brewer’s home, where they found approximately 875 grams of methamphetamine, along with scales, packaging materials, and various types of live ammunition.

Brewer was later apprehended outside his residence and was found with a meth pipe and the money from the controlled buy.

The case was investigated by the Columbus Police Department in collaboration with the Specialized Narcotics Abuse Reduction Effort Task Force.
