Matthew R. Molsen United States Attorney for the District of Nebraska | U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska
Javier Guzman-Andrade, a 41-year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska, has been sentenced for possession with intent to distribute a significant quantity of methamphetamine. Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen confirmed the sentencing on March 26, 2025, which took place in federal court in Omaha. Guzman-Andrade, convicted of possessing 50 grams or more of actual methamphetamine, received a prison term of 168 months under United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher. The federal system does not allow for parole, and upon release, Guzman-Andrade will undergo five years of supervised release. He is also required to forfeit $10,635.00 to the United States, identified as proceeds from drug activities.
Guzman-Andrade was recognized as a distributor of multiple pounds of methamphetamine in 2023 by officers of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Omaha Police Department. Evidence was found on November 27, 2023, when law enforcement executed a search warrant at his residence, resulting in the seizure of approximately eight pounds of methamphetamine. Also discovered was a single shot Deringer firearm, located separately from the drugs. Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of 2,964 grams of actual methamphetamine.
The investigation was conducted by the DEA and the Omaha Police Department as part of an operation under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) program. This program focuses on identifying, disrupting, and dismantling high-level criminal organizations within the United States through a coordinated, multi-agency approach driven by intelligence and led by prosecutors.
