U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Laredo Port of Entry detained a man wanted on a felony warrant in Texas concerning a child sex offense. The incident occurred on April 1, 2025, at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge, where CBP officers referred Omar Jose Delgado Araiza, a 34-year-old U.S. citizen, for further inspection.
During the secondary examination, officers used biometric verification and federal law enforcement databases to confirm his identity. They discovered an active felony arrest warrant for Delgado Araiza, issued by the Bell County, Texas Sheriff's Office, for indecency with a child by contact (fondling). He was subsequently transported to Webb County jail to address the warrant.
"Officers apprehended a subject wanted for a heinous act against a child," said Port Director Albert Flores, Laredo Port of Entry. "This demonstrates our unwavering commitment to ensuring that those who pose a threat to our children do not evade justice."
The public is reminded that criminal charges are only allegations. Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
