Caldwell County man receives 25-year federal sentence for child pornography offenses

A Caldwell County man has received a 25-year federal prison sentence for various child pornography offenses. U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett from the Western District of Kentucky, Homeland Security Investigations Nashville's Special Agent in Charge Rana Saoud, and Kentucky State Police Commissioner Phillip Burnett, Jr. announced the sentencing.

William Guill, aged 50, faced the 25-year prison term along with a life term of supervised release. He was convicted on charges including four counts of sexual exploitation of children, distribution and possession of child pornography, and transfer of obscene material to a minor. The offenses involved Guill recording himself in sexual acts with two minor girls and using a social media application to distribute child sexual abuse material and send nude images to one minor.

Guill must also pay $6,000 in restitution to the victims. The federal system does not provide parole opportunities.

The case was handled by Homeland Security Investigations and the Kentucky State Police, with Assistant U.S. Attorney A. Spencer McKiness prosecuting.

Brought under Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative established in May 2006, this case aimed to tackle child sexual exploitation and abuse. The initiative seeks to employ resources across federal, state, and local levels to prosecute offenders and rescue victims.
