Charles Eugene Moore of Charleston, West Virginia, has been sentenced to three years and five months in prison, along with three years of supervised release, for distributing fentanyl. This sentence was delivered by United States District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin.
According to court records, Moore, aged 37, sold approximately 28 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl and caffeine to a confidential informant in Charleston on April 22, 2022. He also admitted to selling 17 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl and xylazine, also known as “Tranq,” to the same informant in Charleston on April 15, 2022. At the time of these drug offenses, Moore was on parole for a previous conviction of second-degree murder from May 5, 2008, in Kanawha County Circuit Court.
Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston acknowledged the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for their investigative role. Assistant United States Attorney Jeremy B. Wolfe led the prosecution of the case.
