T.W. Garner Food Company has announced a recall of certain lots and sizes of its Texas Pete Habanero Buffalo Sauce. The decision follows the discovery that some bottles may contain Sriracha Sauce, which includes undeclared sulfites. Sulfites can cause severe allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.

Additionally, the company is recalling certain lots and sizes of Texas Pete Sweet CHAbanero Sauce due to mislabeling of ingredients. The sauce bottles reportedly do not contain Aged Peppers, as labeled.

The error was identified via internal quality testing, which revealed that Habanero Buffalo Sauce bottles actually contained Sriracha Sauce. Although there have been no reported illnesses, risks remain for individuals with sulfite allergies.

Affected products were distributed from February 5, 2025, to March 26, 2025. Location details for best by dates vary depending on the bottle size. The distribution covers several states including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia, and Vermont.

Consumers are advised to dispose of or return these products for a full refund. For questions, contact Mrs. Katerine Cardoso, Director of Quality Assurance, at the provided phone number or email.
