The deported individuals are responsible for a total of 610 criminal convictions.
Among the convictions recorded, there were cases of homicide-related offenses, rape or sexual assault, child sex offenses, aggravated assault or assault, and theft-related offenses. Convictions also include firearms offenses, drug trafficking or drug possession-related offenses, driving while intoxicated, hit-and-run crimes, and human smuggling-related offenses.
Several individuals had reentered the U.S. illegally numerous times and had multiple convictions. Notable cases include a 36-year-old with 39 removals and past offenses such as illegal entry and driving while intoxicated. Another example is a 48-year-old with 13 removals and 25 convictions that include narcotics offenses and various forms of violence and theft. Furthermore, specific gang affiliations such as a 50-year-old member of the Florencia 13 gang were noted.
ICE's approach to removing individuals who pose a threat to public safety was emphasized in a statement by Bret Bradford, the Director of ICE ERO Houston Field Office. Bradford stated, “This is just a small snapshot of the amazing work that the brave men and women at ICE do every day to enhance public safety in Southeast Texas.” He highlighted the dedication and risk involved in the efforts to maintain safety and uphold the integrity of national laws.
