Resources and gun locks available for St. Louis crime victims this Wednesday

Victim advocates will be available by phone this Wednesday to assist crime victims and survivors in the St. Louis area with seeking justice and obtaining support. This marks the third year of the hotline which connects individuals with information regarding their rights and available services such as treatment, counseling, and compensation. Each year, the hotline receives calls from dozens of people.

The phone bank will be accessible from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the number 314-539-6855.

Additionally, the U.S. Attorney’s Office will offer 100 gun locks available throughout the week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Interested parties can visit the reception area on the 20th floor of the Thomas F. Eagleton U.S. Courthouse, located at 111 South 10th Street in downtown St. Louis.

This initiative is part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. The theme for this year is KINSHIP, emphasizing the importance of shared humanity in supporting survivors and victims of crime. According to the announcement, "Kinship is a state of being with survivors that drives vital connections to services, rights, and healing. Kinship is where victim advocacy begins."
