U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott K. H. Bessent met with Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc in Washington. The meeting followed Deputy Prime Minister Phoc's earlier discussions with United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
During their meeting, Secretary Bessent and Deputy Prime Minister Phoc agreed to initiate formal discussions focused on reciprocal trade between the United States and Vietnam. Secretary Bessent stressed the necessity for swift and tangible progress in addressing unresolved issues in their trade relationship.
