A Mobile woman has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison on charges related to methamphetamine trafficking and firearms possession. Desiree Rose Carlock, 33, was sentenced to 180 months in prison for her role in a drug-trafficking conspiracy and possessing a firearm during drug-related activities, as indicated in court documents.
Narcotics agents surveilled Carlock in early 2024, observing her travel from Mobile, Alabama, to Pensacola, Florida. During these trips, Carlock purchased large quantities of methamphetamine which she distributed in Mobile. On February 21, 2024, agents conducted a traffic stop and seized almost a pound of methamphetamine and a loaded .380 caliber pistol from her vehicle. Carlock admitted to her drug procurement and distribution activities.
Following her initial encounter with law enforcement, Carlock was arrested again in April 2024. Agents confiscated 21 grams of methamphetamine on April 2 and an additional 349 grams during a subsequent traffic stop on April 22.
U.S. District Judge Kristi K. DuBose presided over the case, ordering Carlock to serve a five-year term of supervised release post-incarceration. During this time, she will undergo drug testing and treatment. Carlock will also pay $200 in special assessments and has forfeited her firearm, ammunition, and cell phone to the government. No fine was imposed.
U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama publicly announced the sentencing. The investigation was carried out by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, with significant assistance from the Escambia County, Florida Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Roller led the prosecution.
