Marwan Taweeleh, a resident of Shakopee, Minnesota, is facing charges related to the attempted coercion and enticement of a minor. Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa D. Kirkpatrick announced the charges against Taweeleh, who is a registered sex offender.

Court documents reveal that on March 18, 2025, 31-year-old Marwan Adel Taweeleh allegedly attempted to entice a minor under 18 years of age to engage in sexually explicit conduct. The indictment includes one count of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, along with a count of offense by a registered sex offender. Taweeleh has a prior conviction for Solicitation of a Child to Engage in Sexual Conduct, which mandates his registration as a sex offender. Following his initial appearance in U.S. District Court before Magistrate Judge John F. Docherty on April 11, 2025, Taweeleh will remain in custody until further court proceedings are held.

Acting U.S. Attorney Kirkpatrick emphasized the priority given to prosecuting sexual predators, especially repeat offenders. She expressed gratitude to the Bloomington Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations for their role in identifying and apprehending child sex predators.

FBI Minneapolis Special Agent in Charge Alvin M. Winston Sr. stated, "Those who prey on children will find no refuge from justice," acknowledging the threat posed by such offenders and reaffirming the FBI's commitment to these investigations.

The investigation into Taweeleh's actions was conducted by the Bloomington Police Department and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rebecca E. Kline is handling the prosecution of this case.

It is important to note that a complaint is an allegation, and the defendant remains innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
