Morgantown-area drug trafficking operation leads to multiple sentences

Four individuals involved in a drug trafficking organization operating from Philadelphia to Detroit and Morgantown, West Virginia, have been sentenced in federal court. Charles Johnson, 33, from Detroit, Michigan, received a 96-month prison sentence. Sandra Tennant, 55, from Morgantown, West Virginia, was sentenced to 51 months. Stephanie Miller, 48, from Charleston, West Virginia, was sentenced to 84 months in federal prison. Jordan Spadafore, 34, also from Morgantown, received five years of probation.

Court documents indicated that these individuals functioned as distributors within their organization, which trafficked methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley. Investigations were led by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative. This group includes a range of agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the West Virginia State Police, and various local police departments.

The initiative was part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which focuses on dismantling high-level criminal organizations using a multi-agency approach. More information on OCDETF can be found at the Department of Justice's official website.

The sentences were handed down by Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh.
