Mexican national indicted for illegal reentry into the United States

The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania reported that a 34-year-old resident of Harrisburg, Fraidi Perez-Bartolon, was indicted for illegally reentering the United States after previous removal. The federal grand jury delivered the indictment on April 16, 2025. Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus shared that Perez-Bartolon was removed on June 2, 2012, via Calexico, California, and was later found in the United States without proper legal permission to return. On April 14, 2025, he was discovered in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations, and the case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Consiglio.

This is part of Operation Take Back America, an initiative aiming to combat illegal immigration, dismantle cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect communities from violent crime. The initiative leverages resources from Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhood.

Under federal law, the maximum punishment for this offense is two years of imprisonment, followed by supervised release, and a possible fine. Sentencing follows a guilty verdict, adhering to federal sentencing statutes and guidelines.

It is important to note that indictments and criminal informations are only allegations, and all charged individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
