Tahlequah man sentenced to 32 months for firearm possession

A resident of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Nathan Quinn Harrington, also known as Blaze McClanahan, has been sentenced to 32 months in federal prison. The 31-year-old was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, following an investigation carried out by the Tahlequah Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Officials reported that the charge against Harrington stemmed from a traffic stop conducted on January 23, 2024. During the stop, law enforcement found Harrington in possession of a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol and five rounds of .22 caliber ammunition. This discovery was made after it was confirmed that Harrington had been previously convicted of a crime that carried a sentencing of more than one year's imprisonment.

Harrington entered a guilty plea on May 1, 2024. The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which is a collaborative effort involving various levels of law enforcement agencies and community members aiming to reduce violent crime and gun violence.

The hearing was presided over by Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Harrington will be held in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service until his transfer to a United States Bureau of Prisons facility, where he is to serve a non-paroleable sentence. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan E. Soverly was responsible for representing the United States in this case.
