U.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer continued her "America at Work" tour with engagements in both Nevada and Oregon. Her agenda included a keynote address at the Teamsters Unity Conference, a visit to a training facility for aviation mechanics, and a roundtable discussion with local small business owners.

During her address to the Teamsters in Nevada, Secretary Chavez-DeRemer shared how her father's experience in the union provided financial stability for her family. She promised to advocate for fair wages, safe workplaces, and secure retirements for American workers.

Joining General President Sean O’Brien, she participated in the 2025 Teamsters Unity Conference, followed by a tour of the Aviation Maintenance Institute. There, she explored the institute's efforts to train the next generation of aviation mechanics to meet the rising demand for airplane technicians. Additionally, the Secretary engaged with the Nevada Hispanic Business Group, where discussions focused on economic challenges faced by small businesses.

Her tour then took her to Oregon, where she met with John O’Leary, the CEO of Daimler Truck North America, at their headquarters. Discussions centered around prioritizing American manufacturers and expediting the training required for these roles. Secretary Chavez-DeRemer concluded her visit in Beaverton, Oregon, at a high school construction project. She received an update from the Skanska construction team and Ironworkers Local 29, recognizing their hours of work logged since the project's inception nearly a year ago.

Secretary Chavez-DeRemer's tour will continue, furthering her engagement with communities and industries across the nation.
