The United States has announced sanctions against six entities and six individuals in Iran and China involved in procuring ballistic missile propellant ingredients for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

This move is part of the U.S. strategy to weaken Iran's ballistic missile program and disrupt the IRGC's activities. It aims to impede the acquisition of sodium perchlorate and dioctyl sebacate, essential components for missile development, from China to Iran.

According to the President’s National Security Presidential Memorandum 2 from February 2025, the U.S. is committed to applying maximum pressure to hinder such military advancements by Iran.

The sanctions imposed by the Department of the Treasury fall under Executive Order 13382, designed to identify and censure proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and those who support them.

The U.S. intends to continue its efforts against individuals and entities advancing Iran's military capabilities, particularly in missile technologies. For additional details, Treasury's press release provides further information.
