Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen has announced the sentencing of Martin Omar Rodriguez Vega. Rodriguez Vega, aged 56, from Sinaloa, Mexico, was sentenced on April 23, 2025, in a federal court in Omaha, Nebraska. He was convicted for distributing more than 50 grams of pure methamphetamine. United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher handed down a sentence of 57 months in prison. Following his imprisonment, Rodriguez Vega will be subject to a five-year term of supervised release, as there is no parole available in the federal system.

The case dates back to September 16, 2022, when an undercover trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol arranged to buy one pound of methamphetamine from an individual located in Mexico. The source in Mexico instructed the trooper to go to Hickman, Nebraska, to meet someone who would facilitate the transaction. At the designated location, Rodriguez Vega delivered 420 grams of pure methamphetamine to the trooper.

The investigation was conducted by the Nebraska State Patrol and the Lincoln Police Department.
