An Omaha man has been sentenced for possession with intent to distribute a significant amount of methamphetamine. According to Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen, Jesus Martinez-Garcia, 27, received a sentence of 200 months in federal prison. The sentencing took place on April 23, 2025, in Omaha. Martinez-Garcia was convicted of possessing with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of actual methamphetamine. United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher presided over the court.

Following his imprisonment, Martinez-Garcia will serve a five-year term of supervised release. Federal law does not allow parole, ensuring he will serve the majority of his sentence behind bars.

The investigation into Martinez-Garcia's activities revealed that on March 11, 2020, he sold a confidential informant 372 grams of lab-confirmed methamphetamine in Omaha. During this controlled transaction, Martinez-Garcia was also found to be in possession of three firearms.

This case was a part of the efforts by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Omaha Police Department, working in conjunction with the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF). OCDETF operations are focused on identifying, disrupting, and dismantling high-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States, employing a strategy that is led by prosecutors and driven by intelligence from multiple agencies.
