A Lake Charles man has been sentenced in a child pornography case, according to Acting United States Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook. United States District Judge James D. Cain, Jr. sentenced Kenneth Blake LeBlanc, 33, to 15 years in prison and 15 years of supervised release for his crimes.
LeBlanc's arrest occurred in April 2024 after a complaint was filed with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO). The complaint revealed LeBlanc had recorded a minor female, under the age of 11, while she was undressing in a bathroom. Detectives from CPSO and agents from Homeland Security Investigations conducted the investigation. It was determined that LeBlanc used a cell phone to film the minor and subsequently transferred the video, which depicted child pornography, from an Android phone to an iPhone via the internet.
LeBlanc accepted responsibility for his actions by pleading guilty to an attempted transportation of child pornography charge.
Homeland Security Investigations led the investigation alongside the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, with Assistant United States Attorney Lauren L. Gardner prosecuting the case.
The case aligns with Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative led by the U.S. Department of Justice to tackle child sexual exploitation and abuse. "Project Safe Childhood combines federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the internet," an official statement noted.
Incidents involving child sexual abuse material can be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children through their website or by calling their hotline.
