A Forest City man has pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Andrew Jay Frazee, aged 31, admitted guilt to distributing over a pound of methamphetamine.
During the plea hearing, Frazee confessed that he and others conspired in November 2024 to distribute methamphetamine in Hancock County, Iowa. Evidence presented showed law enforcement discovered Frazee and his vehicle in a ditch in rural Hancock County on November 19, 2024. Officers noted signs of impairment and detected the scent of marijuana. A subsequent search revealed approximately 325 grams of methamphetamine, a smoking device, baggies, over $1,200 in cash, a scale, and marijuana in the vehicle. Frazee acknowledged recently purchasing large amounts of methamphetamine for distribution.
Andrew Jay Frazee is awaiting sentencing from United States District Court Chief Judge Leonard T. Strand after a presentence report is completed. He is currently in the custody of the United States Marshal. The charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of $10 million, and a minimum of five years of supervised release post-imprisonment.
The prosecution is led by Assistant United States Attorney Patrick T. Greenwood. The investigation was conducted by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
