Assistant admissions director at Emmanuel College charged with solicitation of a minor

An Assistant Admissions Director at Emmanuel College, Boston, was apprehended on allegations of soliciting a minor to engage in commercial sex. Jacob Henriques, 29, faces a criminal complaint for one count of Attempted Sex Trafficking of a Minor and is scheduled to appear in the U.S. District Court in Boston on May 5, 2025.

The complaint claims Henriques misused his position to access personal information of prospective students for solicitation purposes. After meeting some prospects, he allegedly contacted them, offering financial compensation for sexual acts and sharing pornographic content. He purportedly started contacting a fourth student after her confirmation to attend the college and proposed similar transactions.

Henriques is accused of attempting to traffic a 17-year-old prospective student using her tour registration details to initiate contact. Allegedly, he offered her $400 for sexual favors and sent pornographic material, continuing advances despite rejection.

The charge bears a potential life sentence with a minimum of 10 years, mandatory supervised release, and a fine up to $250,000. District courts determine sentences based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.

U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley and FBI's James Crowley acknowledged cooperation from the Boston Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig E. Estes is prosecuting the case. Victims or those with information are encouraged to contact related task forces.

Henriques is considered innocent until proven guilty as per judicial standards.
