President Trump's administration has announced a significant diplomatic reshuffle. Mike Waltz is nominated as the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio will assume the role of National Security Advisor in addition to his current responsibilities at the State Department.

During a conversation on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Rubio commented on his expanded duties and humorously referred to Vice President J.D. Vance's remarks about his workload. In response to Hannity's questions, Rubio addressed several pressing international issues.

On the topic of Russia-Ukraine, Rubio emphasized that the conflict is not a U.S.-initiated war but started under Joe Biden's presidency. "For three years it went on. They made no effort to sort of bring it to a conclusion," stated Rubio. He highlighted President Trump’s attempts to broker peace and noted that while both sides' positions have become more apparent, they remain far apart.

Rubio also discussed the Middle East, stressing the importance of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. He critiqued the previous administration's approach, emphasizing that "this invasion would have never happened if Donald Trump were in the White House." Rubio called for stringent inspections and conditions as part of any deal with Iran.

Regarding China, Rubio described the nation as the top geopolitical foe, pointing to issues such as trade tariffs and intellectual property theft. He emphasized, "this is a wakeup call that we truly need to become a country that can make more things in America and not be as dependent on China.”

Rubio’s expanded diplomatic role coincides with what many perceive as transformative and critical times on the global stage. He concluded with hope for productive outcomes in dealing with these geopolitical challenges.
