U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Phoenix have apprehended Francisco Alexander Pablo-Antonio, a 23-year-old Guatemalan national, during a routine vehicle stop on May 2. Pablo is wanted by authorities in New Mexico's Magistrate Court for the County of San Juan on charges of criminal sexual communication with a child, classified as a Class Four felony.
"Illegal aliens who perpetrate egregious crimes against the most vulnerable in our communities will be prioritized for arrest and detention," stated ERO Deputy Field Office Director Alejandro Almeida. "ERO Phoenix is resolute in its mission to protect American communities through robust immigration enforcement efforts focused on public safety."
Pablo was initially encountered by U.S. Border Patrol agents near El Paso, Texas, in December 2018. He received a notice to appear in March 2019 and was released under strict conditions. An immigration judge ordered his removal from the United States on September 7, 2019, just days before criminal charges were filed against him in New Mexico.
He will remain held without bond while awaiting determination on his criminal case.
ICE encourages individuals with information about foreign fugitives or other criminal aliens residing illegally in the U.S. to contact their Tip Line at 866-347-2423 or internationally at 001-1802-872-6199. Tips can also be submitted online via ICE’s tip form.
