Henry Rogers, a 65-year-old resident of Barboursville, has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. The plea was made in Charleston, West Virginia.
Court documents and statements revealed that on February 17, 2023, law enforcement officers stopped Rogers' vehicle on U.S. Route 19 in Nicholas County's Birch River area. During the traffic stop, officers seized methamphetamine from Rogers. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed on his vehicle, uncovering additional methamphetamine and a .380-caliber pistol in the trunk.
Rogers is set to be sentenced on August 21, 2025. He could face up to 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine.
Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the plea and praised the investigative efforts of the West Virginia State Police.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney D. Keith Randolph under the supervision of United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston.
