Kevin Herve Cayemitte, a 36-year-old resident of Clarksburg, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for drug trafficking offenses. The sentencing was announced in Clarksburg by the authorities.
Cayemitte faced charges for two counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Court documents and statements revealed that investigators were tipped off about Cayemitte's involvement in selling methamphetamine across various locations in Harrison and Lewis Counties. A package containing nearly 2,000 grams of methamphetamine was intercepted en route from Los Angeles, California, to Cayemitte’s campsite. Further searches led to the discovery of additional methamphetamine and firearms at properties linked to him. Cayemitte has previous convictions related to drugs.
After serving his prison term, Cayemitte will be subject to four years of supervised release.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley on behalf of the government. The investigation was conducted by the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative. Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the proceedings.
