U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will conduct interviews for conditionally approved Global Entry applicants at the North Caldwell, NJ location on Saturday, May 10th. The event is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and only those with scheduled appointments will be accommodated. Typically, such interviews are held at a CBP Enrollment Center located at a port of entry. This special event offers an alternative venue at the North Caldwell Firemen’s Community Center, situated at 131 Gould Ave.
CBP acknowledges the popularity of the Global Entry program and the demand for interviews. By organizing events in collaboration with local municipalities, CBP aims to reduce pressure on Enrollment Centers while fostering goodwill within communities.
Global Entry is part of the Department of Homeland Security’s Trusted Traveler Programs, applicable at various ports of entry. Applicants must complete an in-person interview as part of their initial enrollment process. Information about Global Entry and other Trusted Traveler Programs can be found on the Global Entry page.
To join Global Entry, individuals must apply online, pay a non-refundable fee, undergo background checks, and attend an in-person interview. Successful applicants benefit from expedited processing when returning from international travel.
Additionally, members gain access to TSA Pre✓ benefits which include expedited security screening procedures at domestic airports. These benefits allow travelers to keep shoes and light outerwear on and leave laptops in carrying cases during security checks.
A new technology option being developed is the Global Entry Mobile App. This app will allow members to confirm their arrival in the U.S. via iOS or Android devices before entering Federal Inspection Services areas.
Despite its focus on expediting travel processes, Global Entry members may still face further examination upon U.S. entry if necessary. Violations of program terms can lead to enforcement actions and termination of membership privileges.
CBP serves as America's frontline law enforcement organization and border management agency with over 65,000 personnel safeguarding national borders across land, air, and sea domains.
