Devin I. Cresce, a 28-year-old resident of Beckley, West Virginia, has been sentenced to seven years and eleven months in prison for the distribution of methamphetamine. The sentence will be followed by four years of supervised release.
Court documents reveal that on July 13, 2023, Cresce sold approximately 53 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for $500 outside the Crossroads Mall in Mount Hope. Cresce admitted to this transaction and also confessed to selling additional quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl on various dates: about 80 grams of methamphetamine for $750 on July 18, around 24 grams of fentanyl for $1,800 on July 28, and roughly 62 grams of methamphetamine for $750 on August 8. These transactions took place at his residence with the same informant.
On August 10, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Cresce's home and confiscated approximately 94.5 grams of fentanyl and 63 grams of methamphetamine. Cresce acknowledged his intention to distribute these substances within the Southern District of West Virginia.
Cresce's criminal history includes convictions for embezzlement, fraudulent schemes, possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston praised the Central West Virginia Task Force's investigative efforts. Chief United States District Judge Frank W. Volk imposed the sentence while Assistant United States Attorney Brian D. Parsons prosecuted the case.
