Robert J. "Bob" Troester U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma
William Lewis Daniels, a 26-year-old from Texas, has been sentenced to 96 months in federal prison for his involvement in an armed robbery of a marijuana stash house in Oklahoma City. The charges against Daniels included interference with commerce by robbery, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and being a drug user in possession of a firearm. This announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
The incident occurred on February 8, 2024, when the Oklahoma City Police Department responded to reports of an armed robbery at a local residence. Victims reported that three men entered their home, restrained them with zip-ties, and stole over $36,000 in cash and more than 600 pounds of marijuana. The suspects were identified as Daniels and his codefendants Jordon Isaih Watson and Keldon Sherrod Williams.
Security footage revealed four vehicles leaving the scene after the robbery. One vehicle was driven by another codefendant, Brandon Michael Norman from Florida. Authorities managed to pull over two suspect vehicles without incident and arrested Watson, Williams, and Norman. However, Daniels led police on a high-speed chase before being apprehended.
Daniels pleaded guilty on August 7, 2024, admitting to taking cash and marijuana from the victims while possessing a firearm illegally due to his status as an unlawful user of controlled substances.
U.S. District Judge Bernard M. Jones sentenced Daniels on May 1, 2025. Judge Jones highlighted the violent nature of the crimes committed by Daniels as well as the necessity for public protection and deterrence against similar criminal acts.
Watson received a sentence identical to Daniels', while Williams was sentenced to serve 60 months and Norman received a sentence of 48 months in federal prison. Each will also face three years of supervised release following their imprisonment.
This case resulted from investigations conducted by both the FBI Oklahoma City Field Office and the Oklahoma City Police Department under prosecution by Assistant U.S. Attorney Drew E. Davis.
