Robert J. "Bob" Troester U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma
Kenneth Lynch, a 45-year-old resident of Edmond, has entered a guilty plea to charges of sexual exploitation of a child. This development was announced by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
The case began when a federal Grand Jury returned a three-count indictment against Lynch on February 20, 2025. The charges included sexual exploitation of a child, transportation of child pornography, and possession of and accessing with intent to view material containing child pornography.
In October 2024, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents discovered images depicting child sexual abuse material shared on a dark web chat site. HSI identified the minor victim in the photos and interviewed her on November 12, 2024. The victim informed agents that Lynch had sexually abused her multiple times and had taken the incriminating images himself.
Lynch was arrested at his home by Edmond police on January 15, 2025, following the execution of a search warrant. Law enforcement officials found some of the CSAM images that initiated the investigation on Lynch's phone.
On May 7, 2025, Lynch pleaded guilty to Count 1 of the Indictment and admitted to using a minor for sexually explicit conduct with the intent to produce visual documentation. He now faces a potential prison sentence ranging from 15 to 30 years and may be fined up to $250,000.
The investigation leading to this case was conducted by HSI and the Edmond Police Department with prosecution led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jordan Ganz.
This effort is part of the Tornado Alley Child Exploitation Task Force initiative under Project Safe Childhood (PSC), led by HSI in collaboration with various federal, state, and local resources aimed at combating child sexual exploitation online.
