New Grains recalls bakery items due to undeclared allergens

New Grains Gluten Free Bakery has announced a recall of several products due to the presence of undeclared allergens, specifically eggs, soy, and milk. The affected items include breads, bagels, cookies, and croutons. These products were distributed in Utah between April 7 and April 21 under lot numbers 90–107.

The recall includes Artisan White Bread, Artisan Multigrain Bread, Artisan Sourdough Bread, Artisan Cinnamon Raisin Bread, Blueberry Bagels, Cinnamon Raisin Bagels, Plain Bagels, Multigrain Bagels, Artisan Sourdough Ciabatta Rolls, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Dye-Free Frosted Sugar Cookie, Frosted Sugar Cookie, Coconut Macaroon Cookie, Brownie Chocolate Chip Cookie, Artisan Seasoned Croutons and Seasoned Bread Crumbs. Each product contains either egg or a combination of egg, milk and soy.

These products were packaged in clear vacuum-sealed plastic bags for breads and croutons while cookies were in regular clear plastic bags. They are labeled as "gluten-free" under the New Grains brand with labels that may be red, purple orange blue green or pink.

The issue was identified when it was found that these items contained allergens not disclosed on their labels. To date no illnesses have been reported.

Consumers who have purchased these products are advised not to consume them but return them for a full refund at the place of purchase. For further inquiries consumers can contact New Grains Gluten Free Bakery at 801-980-5751 from Monday to Friday between 10 AM and 3 PM MST.

This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
